The Space
An all-inclusive retreat in gated Playacar, rebuilt in 2024 by Michael Gannon, who founded Yogaloft Playa del Carmen. You bring your group and your teacher. We handle the space, the meals, and everything in between.
Ancestral Peace House curates a full-service retreat package for the group you're leading. Bring your own teacher and your own group, or book one of ours. Either way, the space, the meals, and the coffee bar are taken care of before you arrive, so you can spend your time with your students instead of running around after logistics.

We host one group at a time, 8 to 12 guests. You won't be sharing the space or the schedule with anyone else.

Michael Gannon rebuilt Ancestral Peace House in 2024. He also opened Yogaloft Playa del Carmen back in 2013, and it's still going strong.
Michael has taught in more than 50 countries since the late '90s and has lived in Playa del Carmen since 2008. He and his team have been hosting retreat groups here for over a decade, so they know how to make one run smoothly.
Meet the FounderThe property sits at the end of a cul-de-sac, backing onto the golf course inside the gated community of Playacar. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach and to 5th Avenue, so your group can rest when they want quiet and walk into town when they don't.

3 large en-suite bedrooms, each with 3 beds, plus a maid's quarters with 2 singles (a bunk bed), for up to 11 beds. Two sofa beds in the second lounge can take overflow or a teacher, so it comfortably holds 8 to 12. For larger groups, we can sometimes add the property next door.
We offer a 6-night / 7-day package and a 3-night / 4-day package. Longer retreat packages are available on request.
The rate is all-inclusive, per person: all private facilities at Ancestral Peace House including the garden and pool; elaborate brunch and dinner daily; up to 11 beds (2 sofa beds on request at the same per-person rate); one day of maid service each week (extra days available); free class access at Yogaloft Playa del Carmen for your whole stay; and on stays of 6 nights or more, an Atomic Guru Mezcal tasting and meditation with Michael Gannon when he's in town. On shorter stays you can add it on. Add-ons: extra maid service, airport transfers, local transport, excursions, and ceremonial activities.
You might be the teacher yourself, you can bring your own, or you can book one of ours: Michael Gannon, or a teacher he's trained. Our teachers are an add-on to your retreat.
We take bookings year-round, based on availability. Reach out with your dates and we'll confirm.
A $1,000 USD deposit secures and blocks your dates. 50% of the total is due 60 days before your retreat start date, with the remaining balance due 30 days before. Fees for extra activities are 50% due 30 days prior and the remainder 15 days before.
Check-in is 3pm and check-out is noon. If the booking schedule allows it, we can usually do an early check-in or a late check-out at no extra charge.
Our menu is nutrient dense and includes animal based dishes, and we accommodate restricted diets: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, whatever your group needs. We build the menu around your group.
Ancestral Peace House is smoke free. Clean alcohol like red wine or a premium mezcal is fine if it fits what your group is going for.
The initial deposit is non-refundable. After that, refunds scale with how much notice you give us. In some cases we can credit what you've paid toward a future date within a year. Full terms come with your quote.
